Ingredients
2 lbs of beef short ribs (boneless and cut into 1/2-inch thin strips)
Asian BBQ Marinade:
1 kiwi, peeled
2 stalks green onion
1/2 cup pineapple juice
1/4 cup soy sauce
3 tbsp brown sugar
2 tbsp sesame oil
2 tbsp garlic
1-inch ginger
Instructions
Prepare the Asian BBQ marinade
- In a blender, put all the ingredients and blend until smooth.
Prepare the beef
- Cut the beef into ½ inch thick strips.
- Place the boneless beef shortribs in a large Ziploc bag or a container.
- Add the marinade and marinate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
Air Fry Method
- Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees.
- Air fry the beef for 5 minutes on each side until you get a bit of a char on each side. Refrain from overcrowding as you will steam the beef instead of getting a good sear.
Pan Fry Method
- In a large skillet, on medium-high heat, pan-fry the beef for 5 minutes on each side.
Grill/BBQ
- Preheat the grill, and barbecue the beef for 5 minutes on each side until you get a nice char.
Notes
- Choose an excellent cut of beef. I used boneless beef short ribs. You can use the traditional “Korean” cut short ribs.
- Marinate for 2 hours minimum, overnight for best results.
- Cook them on high heat quickly until you get a nice color.
