This juicy Orange Chicken recipe is one of my famous air fryer recipes - at home. Using simple ingredients, this recipe is a family favorite.

Ingredients

Scale

4-5 boneless chicken thighs

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1 tbsp neutral oil (avocado oil)

Orange Sauce:

1/2 cup fresh orange juice (1 large orange)

2 tsp orange zest

3 tbsp tamari or low-sodium soy sauce

1 tbsp minced garlic

2 stalks green onion (whites and greens separated)

1 tbsp ketchup

1 tbsp honey

1" ginger grated

4 tbsp of segmented oranges (optional)

cornstarch slurry (1 tsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water)

1 tbsp of neutral oil (avocado oil)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, salt, pepper, and oil your boneless chicken thighs.
  2. In an air fryer basket or tray, lay your chicken pieces skin side up in a single layer.
  3. Air fry at 375 degrees for 20 minutes, flipping halfway. Add an extra 5 minutes to ensure the top is browned and crispy. Internal temperature should be 165 degrees f or higher.
  4. Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, make your orange sauce.
  5. Add 1 tbsp of avocado oil to the saucepan, and saute the garlic and white part of the green onion until fragrant.
  6. In medium heat, add the rest of the sauce ingredients and bring to a boil.
  7. Lastly, add the cornstarch mixture. Mix well until the sauce is a thick consistency.
  8. Pour the sauce on the chicken, slice it up and enjoy!
