Enjoy a classic Spanish seafood dish that is sure to tantalize your taste buds with this easy and delicious Spanish Prawns recipe. This traditional dish, also known as Gambas al Ajillo, features prawns cooked in a garlicky sauce made with olive oil, but I used brown butter to make my version extra rich!

  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 2-4 1x

Ingredients

Scale

1 pound of prawns (16-20 count)

1/2 cup of butter

7 minced garlic cloves

1 julienned Fresno chili (use a mild or as spicy as you want)

1 tsp red chilli flakes

1/2 tsp of smoked paprika

1 French baguette

flat-leaf parsley for garnish

1-2 tbsp fresh lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Prep your prawns. Devein and remove the shell. Leave a tail for aesthetic.
  2. On medium heat in a cast iron pan, brown the butter.
  3. Add the garlic once the butter is browned.
  4. Add the julienned chili. For more heat, add more red chili flakes.
  5. Saute the prawns for 5 minutes, flipping frequently. It should be cooked when the prawns are pink and not translucent.
  6. Serve with a French baguette, and enjoy!
