  • Half an onion thinly sliced
  • 1 cup frozen corn
  • 2 cups rice day old rice is best
  • 2 tablespoon of cold butter
  • 2 cloves of garlic minced
  • Beef Pepper Sauce:

  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • green onions for garnish

Equipment

Method

Step 1: Prepare the Ingredients
  1. Start by thinly slicing the ribeye steak. Pro tip: freeze the steak for 30 minutes prior, it makes it easier to cut the steak into thin strips.
  2. Season with salt and pepper
  3. Slice the onion into thin strips and set aside.
  4. Ensure that the rice is day-old; this helps achieve the perfect texture.
Step 2: Make the Beef Pepper Sauce
  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, honey, sesame oil, and black pepper.
Step 3: Cook Beef Pepper Lunch
  1. Sear beef for 3 minutes (do not touch) until the bottom has a nice crust. Remove and set aside.
  2. Add a splash of oil and toss in the sliced onions. Sauté until they become translucent and slightly caramelized.
  3. Add back the beef
  4. Add the 1 cup of rice in the middle.
  5. Next, add the frozen corn around the rice and beef.
  6. Add the cold butter.
  7. Drizzle the Beef Pepper Sauce all over.
  8. Mix everything together.
  9. Garnish with green onions and enjoy!
