This gyudon is the ultimate lazy girl dinner. All you need is 7 ingredients and you're good to go! I make this on busy days like back to back soccer practices with my boys. Its one pot so easy clean up. What could be better than that?

Brands I recommend to use for this recipe
Dashi concentrate → instant dashi powder (mix per package), then add more water.
Beef → use shabu shabu thinly sliced beef to save time. You can usually find them in grocery stores. If you're like me and can't find them. Just thinly slice the beef yourself.

How to make (PICTURES)

- Step 1 OPTIONAL: Make the onsen eggs. Boil the water, add ⅔ cup of cold water, add the eggs, cover with a lid and remove from the heat for 18 minutes.

- Step 2: Add the rinsed rice, and onion.

- Step 3: Add the beef

- Step 4: Add all the sauces and water.

- Step 5: Serve and enjoy!

- Step 6: Add the onsen eggs - if you want.

- Rinse rice until water runs clear; add to the rice cooker pot.2 cups rice
- Layer onion over the rice.½ onion
- Lay beef slices on top (don't mix yet).200 g thinly sliced beef
- In a bowl, whisk water, dashi, soy sauce, mirin, salt & pepper.1-¼ cups water, ½ cup dashi liquid concentrate, ¼ cup soy sauce, 4 tablespoon mirin, Salt + pepper
- Pour sauce evenly over beef + rice.
- Close the rice cooker lid and hit Cook.
- Once done, fluff everything together and serve hot.
- Serve with onsen eggs - boil water, add ⅔ cup of cold water and remove from heat. Place the eggs carefully and let it cook for 18 minutes. Remove and serve.Optional toppings: chopped green onions
