If you love tacos, this post is for you. As a local who lives in Cabo San Lucas for some parts of the year, I can assure you that I know all the spots.
Mexico is known for so many things like tropical beaches, amazing resorts, amazing culture and people but mostly THE FOOD!
Cabo San Lucas is known for their food. I have curated the perfect list for you as it can be pretty daunting searching for the best tacos in Cabo.
#1 - Tacos Gardenias
This is by far my favorite seafood taco spot in Cabo. They’re an institution, been there for over 50 years. It is so consistent, you know you’re going to get the best shrimp tacos every single time. It is not the cheapest in the city but it is the best I have ever had.
WHAT TO ORDER:
- Baja style shrimp or fish tacos (battered and fried)
- grilled shrimp tacos
- ceviche - best in the city!
- margaritas
This place is on the pricey side because it is well known for tourist and locals. Highly recomended as the food is so fresh and so delicious.

#2 - La Lupita Taco & Mezcal
La Lupita Taco & Mezcal in Cabo San Lucas and San Jose offers a vibrant dining experience. They have amazing cocktails, the tacos are next-level. It is a place you need to visit while you're in Cabo. They even have live bands on the weekends. It is so much fun and the food is incredible.
WHAT TO ORDER:
- Peruvian ceviche
- guacamole is insane!
- soft shell crab tostadas
- taco guero (shrimp tempura taco)
- baja scallops taco
- must order: churros
This one is definitely a fancy restaurant but the service and food quality is worth every penny.

#3 - Los Cabos Fish Tacos
What a gem! They only sell 2 things on the menu - fried or grilled fish tacos or a quesadilla. They have the freshest fish tacos I have ever had. It is so affordable! 4 of us had 2 tacos each and it was less than $25 USD with bottled water or soda.
WHAT TO ORDER:
- Grilled Fish Tacos
- Fried Fish Tacos
- Quesadilla
We come here once a month for lunch. It is so affordable and kids love it. Tucked away in the marina - go find them and thank me later.

#4 - El Toro Guero Seafood
This place is where I take my family and friends when they visit. The seafood is fresh and cooked to perfection. Authentic Mexican food at its finest. This place is where the locals go to celebrate.
WHAT TO ORDER:
- shrimp or fish tacos!
- shrimp cocktail
- any tostadas - I had the shrimp and tuna
- whole fried fish was so fresh

#5 - Jazmin’s Restaurant
This place is the ultimate authentic Mexican Restaurant I love. It is such a vibe, there is a mariachi band that plays while you eat tacos and drink margaritas. It is so much fun, has a pricey price tag but worth every penny. Everything was amazing from the shrimp tacos to the tortilla soup.
WHAT TO ORDER:
- Tortilla soup
- Guacamole and chips
- Shrimp tacos or fish tacos
- Skinny margarita was amazing!
Total in USD/ pesos per person: $60 - this is the most expensive place on the list for good reason.
#6 - Claro Fish Jr.
This place knows their seafood. I love their ceviches and all the seafood is so fresh. The battered fish and shrimp tacos are not greasy. It gets busy on the weekends you may have to wait. You know it's good when it's 90% locals dine there.
WHAT TO ORDER:
- Shrimp tacos
- Fish tacos
- Ceviche
- Seafood molcajete is 10/10

#7 - Captain Tony’s
Classic marina spot for tourists and locals. This place is amazing for eating tacos and people watching. You see fishermen rolling in their catch that day. Plus they will prepare your catch of the day. Now that’s fresh!
WHAT TO ORDER:
- You Hook It, We Cook It - so whatever you catch they will cook to how you like it.
- ahi tuna curricanes (sashimi)
- baja style shrimp tacos
- famous table side guacamole
- mango margarita (skinny for no sugar)
Total in USD/ pesos per person: $25 per person - for being at the marina the prices are not that bad.
#8 - La Taquiza Centro
This was our first ever spot we went to when we first moved to Cabo. They have everything from shrimp and fish tacos to pastor tacos. Such a great local spot that won't break the bank.
WHAT TO ORDER:
- shrimp tacos (battered or grilled)
- fish tacos
- pastor tacos (not seafood but highly recommended)
- tuna curracan - tuna sashimi Mexican style
